The Harpy's Tale is a 13 year old Islay single malt from Ardbeg, and the first release in the Anthology Collection. It is also a first for the distillery: a marriage of whisky matured in sweet Sauternes wine casks with Ardbeg aged in ex-bourbon casks.
The name comes from the Harpy, a winged beast said to inhabit Islay. The whisky sets Ardbeg's smoky character against the richness of the Sauternes casks.
Notes include smoked lemon peel, balsamic vinegar, fresh apricots and tarry rope.
