The second release in the Ardbeg Anthology Collection, this 14 year old Islay single malt is called The Unicorn's Tale. It was matured in a combination of Madeira and bourbon casks and is bottled at 46% without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle.
The name comes from a story of a unicorn-like creature sighted at the distillery one night after a party.
The nose offers baked banana bread, treacle sponge, burning cedar and eucalyptus oil. The palate brings lime and sweet peaches, then lozenges, creosote, aniseed, nutmeg and peat smoke. The finish is long, with menthol, clove, wood smoke and camphor.
