Ardbeg Ardcore is the distillery's 2022 limited edition, presented on 4 June 2022 for Ardbeg Day. It is made with roasted black malt and matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks.
The name pays tribute to Port Ellen, the main port of Islay, which was nicknamed Punk Ellen in the 1970s. The whisky carries that punk rock spirit.
It is described as spicy, rich and smoky, with cocoa, dark chocolate, caramel, smoked lime, aniseed and malt biscuit.
