Ardbeg Ardcore is an Islay single malt in a 75cl bottle at 46% ABV, made using heavily roasted black malt. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks.
It was inspired by Islay's punk heritage and launched for Ardbeg Day 2022, and its black and yellow label draws on underground gig posters.
The nose combines dark chocolate, roasted malt, burnt sugar, smoke, espresso and a touch of citrus. On the palate, sweet malt meets spice, charcoal and black coffee before smoke takes over. The finish is long, dry and smoky, with cocoa, charred oak and molasses.
