An Islay single malt from Ardbeg, named after the whirlpool off the north of the island and bottled at 57.1% ABV.
It matures in a combination of new French oak and American ex-bourbon oak.
The nose is crisp apples and citrus peel, with a touch of sea spray and peat smoke. The palate brings dark chocolate, cherries and spice, wrapped in warming peat. The finish is long, with espresso, liquorice and a hint of star anise.
