Ardbeg – Corryvreckan

Ardbeg Corryvreckan is an Islay single malt named after the Corryvreckan whirlpool, the largest in Europe and the second largest in the world. It lies close to Jura and Islay, is rated by the Royal Navy as one of the most dangerous stretches of water in the British Isles, and can be heard from more than 10 miles away. The whirlpool is the emblem on the front label. The nose is buttery and creamy, with roast chicken, herbs and a hint of pine. The palate offers cream, spice, a tingle, fresh fruit, medicinal notes, sticking plaster, clementines and orange peel. The finish is salty and more medicinal, with smoked meat, fleeting peat, tar, chilli and salt.
