Ardbeg – Fermutation Invasion of the Washbacks

Ardbeg Fermutation Invasion of the Washbacks is an Ardbeg single malt that takes its name from an accident at the distillery in 2007. A broken boiler left six washbacks of liquid fermenting beyond the point anyone intended. The distillery team took the lids off the washbacks in the hope of saving the batch. What followed was the longest fermentation in Ardbeg's history, which is credited with making the whisky its sharpest, zingiest and wildest.
