Ardbeg Hypernova HN2022 is an Islay single malt released in 2022 to members of the Ardbeg Committee, the latest in the distillery's Supernova series. It is bottled at 51% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and at natural colour.
The malt was peated to over 170ppm phenols, with the aim of making the smokiest Ardbeg released to date.
It is described as having tar, creosote, soot and bonfire smoke, with dark chocolate, aniseed, bitter almond and a little sweetness beneath the peat.
