Ardbeg – Hypernova Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Limited Edition (70cl, 51%)

Hypernova is a limited edition Islay single malt from Ardbeg, bottled at 51% in a 70cl bottle. It is the most heavily smoked whisky Ardbeg has presented, and the newest in the Supernova family, following on from the earlier Supernova releases. Its peat character is so pronounced that the distillery itself calls the intensity brutal. The palate moves from peat to chocolate and bitter almonds, then to lingering spice such as aniseed and clove. The finish is marked by strong smokiness, with earthy and herbal hints.
