Ardbeg Perpetuum is an Islay single malt released in 2015 to mark the distillery's 200th anniversary. It is a limited-edition Committee Release, bottled at 47.4% ABV.
Young and old whiskies matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks are brought together in it, and Ardbeg describes the result as the past, present and future in a glass.
The nose offers dark chocolate, treacle, nutty oak and coastal peat. The palate is creamy, with peat smoke, vanilla, milk chocolate and dried fruit, and the finish is medium-long, with smoked ham, salt and sweet fruit.
