Ardbeg Smokiverse is the 2025 Ardbeg Day release, a limited edition Islay single malt bottled at 48.3%. Ardbeg Day falls on the last Saturday of the Feis Ile festival, which in 2025 was 31 May.
It is the first limited edition made with a specially enriched mash known as High Gravity Mash, which uses a higher proportion of malted barley to water to strengthen fruity, tropical aromas. The whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks.
The nose brings smoked bubblegum and fresh sourdough, with sweet peat smoke and tropical fruit once water is added. On the palate come creosote, aniseed and clove, softened by muscovado sugar, and the finish is long, with peat moss and campfire embers.
