Ardbeg Smokiverse is a limited edition Islay single malt, released for Ardbeg Day 2024. It comes from a High Gravity Mash experiment, a technique the distillery used to intensify its peat smoke. It is bottled at 46% and is non-chill filtered, in cosmic-themed packaging.
On the nose there is peat smoke, scorched earth, cracked pepper and briny sea spray. The palate offers charcoal, roasted malt, burnt toffee, espresso and herbal notes. The finish is long, with dry smoke, liquorice root and smouldering oak.
