Ardbeg – Ten (70cl)

Ardbeg Ten is the ten-year-old single malt from Ardbeg, on the south coast of Islay, in a 70cl bottle. It was launched in 2000 and is the first non-chill-filtered whisky in the distillery's range. The malt is heavily peated, at 50 ppm phenols. An extra reflux mechanism on the still is said to give a light, fruity sweetness and purity that balance the peat. It is described as peaty, smoky and complex, with some coffee and chocolate.
