Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old - Batch 4

This is the fourth batch of Ardbeg's Traigh Bhan series, an Islay single malt aged 19 years and named after the Singing Sands beach on the island's southern coast. It was matured in American oak and Oloroso sherry casks, with a slightly higher share of Oloroso casks in this batch. The nose combines herbal pine, fennel, lime sorbet and medicinal lozenges with eucalyptus, saddle leather, vanilla, currants and minted chocolate. On the palate, wood smoke and dark chocolate lead to lemon curd, peanut brittle, raisin fudge and roasted hazelnuts. The finish is long, smoky and savoury.
