Ardbeg – Uigeadail (54.2%)

Ardbeg Uigeadail is a single malt from Islay, bottled at 54.2% without an age statement. It is a marriage of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. The nose is smoky and savoury, with peppery peat, tar, coffee grounds, dark chocolate and dried fruit. On the palate sweet peat arrives first, followed by orange with sea salt, malt and smoky caramel, with raisin, treacle and spice from the sherry casks. The finish is long and warming, with smoky caramel, dark chocolate, ash and a final note of salted citrus and oak spice.
