Ardbeg – Uigeadail Bottled 2005 (70cl, 54.2%)

An early batch of Ardbeg Uigeadail, the Islay single malt first introduced in 2003. This limited edition was bottled by the distillery in 2005 at 54.2% ABV, without colouring or chill filtration, from a batch of bourbon and sherry casks. The character is rich and peaty: molasses-style peat with syrupy, medicinal sherry, gingery smoke and smoky bacon. Dark fruits, dark chocolate, cinnamon and bakery spices sit alongside seashore freshness, brine, antiseptic notes, peat oils, boiler smoke and minerals.
