Ardbeg – Uigeadail Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 54.2%)

This is Uigeadail, an Islay single malt from Ardbeg, bottled at 54.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered. The nose is rich and smoky, with Christmas cake, walnut oil, ocean spice, cedar, pine needles, a coal fire and well-oiled leather. Treacle toffee and chocolate-coated raisins add sweetness, and water deepens the smoke. The palate is full and mouth-coating, balancing sweet, spicy and smoky flavours, with Christmas cake, winter spices, honey-glazed smoked food and chewy treacle. The finish is long and chewy, with raisin, mocha and aromatic smoke.
