Ardbeg – Uigeadail (70cl, 54.2%)

Ardbeg Uigeadail is an Islay single malt bottled at 54.2% in a 70cl bottle. It takes its name from Loch Uigeadail, the loch on the distillery's land that supplies the water used in production. The whisky is a vatting of single malts of different ages, matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. The two cask types set sweet, fruity tones against the peat smoke of Islay. The nose is peaty and intense, with caramel, treacle and sweet dried fruit. On the palate come fruitcake, treacle and caramel, then peat smoke, honeyed barbecue notes and spice, with a salty touch of olives. The finish is long, warm and smoky.
