This is a 24-year-old Islay single malt from Ardbeg, released as the Vintage Y2K.
Amontillado sherry casks sit in the background of the palate, which is powerful and spicy with an intense smoky character.
The nose is described as delicate, with creamy toffee, blackcurrants in bloom and almonds, over fleeting hints of damp moss and graphite. On the palate the sherry casks bring fine notes of toffee, leather, cinnamon and cloves.
