Ardnamurchan – 10 Year Old Anniversary Release AD/10 (70cl, 50%)

This is a 10 year old Highland single malt from Ardnamurchan, released as an anniversary bottling. It was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2024 at 50% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is entirely unpeated. The batch of 15,000 bottles was matured wholly in first-fill bourbon casks, and about half of it then spent more than a year in Champagne Paul Launois barriques. The nose is tropical, with ripe mango, pineapple chunks and plenty of honey, then baked banana, brown sugar, figs and wine gums. Later come caramel creme, toffee and white chocolate meringues. On the palate the honey continues, with linseed oil, warming spices, gingerbread, fresh pineapple and cedar, in an oily, waxy texture.
