This is a 7 year old Highland single malt from Ardnamurchan, bottled by Whisky Sponge at 57.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Edition 48C is a single cask from a first fill bourbon barrel of 2014, released as part of a three-bottling set that together makes up Whisky Sponge Edition 48.
The nose brings golden cereals, crunchy sugar, green apple and yeasty dough, with peppery nasturtium and brown bread. The palate combines sharp, bright fruit with smoke, apples in syrup and cask char, turning to dry, earthy minerality. The finish is short to medium, with dry, slightly tannic smoke and crunchy sugars.
