Its whole five years of maturation took place in a single first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry cask. Ardnamurchan sits at the most westerly point of mainland Britain.
The nose brings oolong tea, lit charcoal, damp mulch, sea spray and blackberry jam. On the palate, overripe plums and black pepper lead to cinnamon and dark chilli chocolate dipped in espresso. Leather and liquorice run long into the finish.
