Ardnamurchan AD is a single malt from Ardnamurchan Distillery, made from an equal proportion of peated and unpeated malt. It is bottled at 46.8% ABV, unchill-filtered and of natural colour.
The whisky is matured in 65% ex-bourbon barrels from Kentucky and 35% ex-sherry casks, Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez, from Jerez.
The nose brings nutmeg, toffee apple, creme brulee, Seville oranges, Manuka honey, saltwater and driftwood. On the palate come grapefruit marmalade, flamed orange peel, ripe pear, peach, sweet soy sauce and warming Sichuan pepper, ending in a lingering maritime finish.
