Ardnamurchan 6 Year Old is a Highland single malt, distilled in 2015 and bottled at 53% in a 70cl bottle for Whisky Sponge. Edition 48B is an equal mix of two single casks, matured in refill and first fill barrels, and is one of three bottlings that together form Whisky Sponge Edition 48.
The nose brings lemon posset, apricot flan and apple compote with smoke of coal dust and medicinal lemon. The palate is surprisingly sweet, with orchard and stone fruit in syrup, barbecue briquettes and a touch of cooling mint. The finish is medium to long, with lingering fruit sugars and rocky touches.
