Ardnamurchan AD/10 is a 10 year old Highland single malt, bottled at 46.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is vatted from 54 ex-bourbon barrels (95%) and two ex-sherry hogsheads (5%), filled with a mix of 52% unpeated and 48% peated spirit. A total of 16,380 bottles are being released worldwide.
The bourbon casks bring clean sweetness and vanilla, with a subtle sherry influence and a measured touch of smoke.
The nose has coconut, oat biscuits and zesty orange peel, with salty sea air, bonfire leaves, and a hint of strawberry laces and mint. The palate is rich and creamy, with custard creams, vanilla wafer, brine and earthy smoke. The finish is lingering, smoky and maritime.
