Ardnamurchan – AD/10.21:06 Release 5 (70cl, 46.8%)

This is the fifth release from Ardnamurchan, a single malt made from a mix of 50% peated and 50% unpeated whisky. It was matured in a combination of 65% ex-bourbon casks and 35% ex-sherry casks. It is bottled at 46.8% in a 70cl bottle, unfiltered and without added colour, with an outturn of 21,000 bottles worldwide. A QR code on the bottle gives access to a blockchain record of its supply and production chain. The nose is summer berries and juicy apples with lemon meringue and salted caramel. The palate is soft and full, with vanilla ice cream, nuts, a little smoke and salted caramel. The finish is long and fruity, with a hint of glowing campfire.
