Ardnamurchan AD Cask Strength Release is the 2023 edition of this single malt, bottled at 58.1% in a 70cl bottle from a run of 13683 bottles. It brings together peated and unpeated whisky.
Around 90% of the whisky matured in American ex-bourbon casks, with the remainder in Oloroso and PX sherry casks, which add some fruitiness.
The nose offers coastal peat smoke, vanilla and bright citrus zest. On the palate come maritime peat, ripe orchard fruit, warm oak and black pepper, followed by a lingering peaty finish with a subtle seaweed saltiness.
