Ardnamurchan – AD/ Heritage Barley Release Golden Promise (59.2%)

This is a single malt from Ardnamurchan, a Heritage Barley Release made with Golden Promise barley and bottled at 59.2% ABV. The nose brings digestive biscuits, melted salted butter and baked oats in the manner of flapjacks, with marzipan under powdered sugar, a little apricot jam and some honey. On the palate the marzipan deepens into poached almonds and a hint of pistachio, alongside gentle lemonade sparkle, baked cooking apples, lavender and a buttery, nutty richness. The finish is balanced, rich and velvet-smooth, yet still bright.
