Ardnamurchan – AD/Heritage Barley Sherry Cask

This Ardnamurchan single malt comes from the Heritage Barley Release, first introduced in 2025. It is made from 100% unpeated Golden Promise malted barley, a variety widely used in Scotch whisky from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s. The distillery believes it accentuates the full-bodied, oily texture of its distillate. This Sherry expression was matured entirely in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry butts. The nose has brandy-soaked cherries, blackberry schnapps and spearmint, with gingerbread and blueberry pie. The palate brings dried ginger, fresh leather, cardamom, toffee, pancakes with maple syrup and pumpernickel. The finish is long, with rich, jammy fruit and spice.
