Ardnamurchan – AD Single Malt 10 Year Old (70cl, 46.8%)

This is the Ardnamurchan 10 Year Old, the first of an annual release from the Western Highlands distillery. It is vatted from 54 ex-bourbon barrels and two ex-sherry hogsheads, filled with 52% unpeated and 48% peated spirit. There are 16,380 bottles worldwide, each at 46.8%, non-chill filtered and of natural colour, in a 70cl bottle. The nose offers coconut, oat biscuits and zesty orange peel, layered with salty sea air, bonfire leaves, strawberry laces and mint. The palate is rich and creamy, with custard creams, vanilla wafer, brine and earthy smoke. The finish is long, smoky and warmly maritime.
