Ardnamurchan – Cask Strength 2023 (70cl)

This is a cask strength single malt from Ardnamurchan, the distillery on Scotland's west coast, and the first cask strength expression it released, in 2023. It is a 70cl bottle. The whisky is drawn from about 50 barrels dating from around 2016 and 2017. Ardnamurchan is run by Adelphi Distillery Ltd. and uses a hydroelectric generator and biomass boilers. The nose combines coastal peat smoke, vanilla and bright citrus zest. The palate offers maritime peat, ripe orchard fruit, warm oak and gentle black pepper, and the finish is a lingering peat with a hint of seaweed salinity.
