Heritage Barley is an Ardnamurchan single malt made from 100% unpeated Golden Promise malted barley. It was matured exclusively in ex-American bourbon barrels from 2018 and is bottled at 59.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings milk chocolate digestive biscuits, glacé cherries, lime cordial and marzipan, with apricot jam and acacia honey on sourdough toast. On the palate it is oily and chewable, with sugared almonds, salted cashews, orange polenta cake and baked cooking apples. The finish is oily and medium in length, with soft orchard fruit, a sweet nuttiness and a last note of espresso.
