Ardnamurchan – 'Heritage Barley Release' (70cl, 59.2%)

This is a single malt from Ardnamurchan, bottled at 59.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is the distillery's first release made from Golden Promise barley, a variety rarely grown today. The whisky is distillate-led, showing the character of the barley and the way it was distilled. The nose offers barley, melted butter and honey, with digestive biscuits, apricot jam and marzipan. The palate is fatty and oily, with marzipan, nuts, orange cake and baked apples. The finish is buttery and rich, with toasted coconut and orchard fruits.
