Ardnamurchan – Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

This is a Highland single malt Scotch from the Ardnamurchan distillery on the west coast of Scotland. It was distilled from a mix of 50% peated and 50% unpeated malt. The whisky matured in a combination of 65% Bourbon casks and 35% sherry casks. The nose combines lemon peel with coastal salinity and dense peat. On the palate, crisp green apple and pear sit beside creamy oak, vanilla and toasted barley, with seaweed and vegetal peat giving a dry, smoky note. The finish is full of citrus, with sharp lemon and candied orange, and harbour peat softened by earthy vanilla and buttery toasted oak.
