This is the fifth Ardnamurchan Paul Launois release, a collaboration between the West Highland distillery and the Champagne house Paul Launois of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. It is an 8 year old single malt, distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2026 at a cask strength of 57.4% ABV. Only 5,726 bottles were filled.
The unpeated spirit matured in ex-bourbon casks and was finished in ex-Champagne casks from Paul Launois. It is natural and unfiltered.
The nose offers spiced orange glaze, rum and raisin ice cream, salted caramel, lemon cream, orange blossom, wine gums and Sauternes. The palate starts with dry oak, then macadamia, citrus, nutmeg, peach, crème de cacao and vanilla, with a light Szechuan pepper tingle. The finish ends on a fresh acidity.
