Ardnamurchan – Peated Sauternes Cask (70cl, 50%)

This is a 2025 release of peated Ardnamurchan single malt, bottled by Adelphi and following on from the previous year's Sauternes cask release. It is the first time the distillery has paired its peated spirit with Sauternes casks. The spirit was distilled in 2018 and spent three years in 29 ex-bourbon casks. It was then re-racked into ex-Sauternes barriques for a further three and a half years. 8,460 bottles were filled at 50%, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose brings lime leaf, shortbread, pineapple upside-down cake and a little tobacco. On the palate come ginger, smoked manuka honey and lemon meringue pie, with a farmy smoke. The finish is spicy and bright.
