Ardnamurchan Sauternes Cask is a peated single malt from Ardnamurchan Distillery, bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The spirit is 100% peated.
It matured for three years in ex-bourbon casks and then for three and a half years in ex-Sauternes wine casks. The outturn is 8,460 bottles.
The nose is rich, with campfire, lime leaf, melon, hay, pineapple cake, peach, ginger syrup and tobacco. The palate is a lively mix of sweet and smoky flavours: mandarin, apricot, ginger, nutmeg, smoked honey, hickory smoke and nuts. The finish is medium in length, dry and peppery, with a hint of fruit.
