This is the fourth limited release from Ardnamurchan, the Highland distillery founded by the independent bottler Adelphi in 2014. The whisky matured first in Oloroso sherry hogsheads, then in Pedro Ximenez octaves made from American and Spanish oak. It was bottled in 2019 at its natural cask strength of 57.4% ABV, in an outturn of 5,100 bottles.
On the palate there is caramel creme with candied orange, Manuka honey and mango, alongside rock salt, liquorice, maple wood, cured smoked bacon and the embers of dead peat fires.
