Ardnamurchan The Midgie Batch 2 is a single malt bottled at 48%, created as a nod to the Highland midge.
This batch is vatted from 50% ex-American bourbon barrels, 48% Port barriques and 2% sherry casks. The spirit is 75% unpeated and 25% peated.
The nose brings salted prunes, torched pineapple, strawberry jam and coconut macaroon. On the palate come salt-baked pear, meadowsweet, sultanas and cocoa powder. The finish is dry and long, with a puff of smoke and a constant play of sweet and salty.
