Ardnamurchan The Midgie is a lightly peated Highland single malt, named after the notorious midges, the tiny biting insects. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in ex-bourbon, port and sherry casks. The nose is salty, with strawberry jam, almond, coconut and peppermint. The palate combines wild flowers, thyme, sultanas, cocoa, maritime notes and pink peppercorns. The finish is dry and lightly sweet, with smoky touches and red berries.
