Armorik Double Maturation is a single malt whisky from Brittany, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. The distillery worked with a local cooper to make casks from Breton oak, and the whisky spends many years in them before moving to sherry casks for a second maturation.
The nose balances mirabelle and citrus fruit with spice and vanilla. On the palate a soft, round honeyed start gives way to spice, woodiness and ripe fruit.
The finish is very long, with spices, cookies and orange jam.
