This is a 19 year old single cask Arran, matured in ex-sherry European oak. That is an unusual choice for the distillery, which has generally favoured ex-bourbon casks. It was distilled on 20 June 1997 and bottled on 5 April 2017 at 53.5% ABV, a special release commissioned for Argentina. It is non-chill-filtered, of natural colour, and yielded 637 bottles.
The nose shows a strong Arran character with zest, dried fruit, butter and cinnamon. The palate brings brown sugar, cinnamon, butter and plenty of lemon, with firm tannins, acidity and a peppery kick at the back of the throat. It is oily in texture. The finish is long, lingering and rich.
