Arran – Amarone Cask Finish (50%)

Arran Amarone Cask Finish is a single malt from the Arran distillery at Lochranza on the Isle of Arran. It is bottled at 50% ABV. The whisky begins in traditional oak casks and is then finished in casks that previously held Amarone della Valpolicella, the red wine from northern Italy. It belongs to the distillery's cask finish series and is bottled without chill filtration or added colouring. The nose brings ripe cherries, blackberries and raspberries with a little dark chocolate. On the palate come red fruit, soft toffee, honey, plums and cocoa, with gentle tannins. The finish is long, with black cherries, nuts and light spice.
