Arran – Quarter Cask (70cl)

Arran Quarter Cask is a cask strength single malt from the Isle of Arran, in a 70cl bottle. It matured first for 7 years in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels. The whisky then spent a further 2 years in 125 litre quarter casks of American oak. The smaller casks bring the whisky into closer contact with the wood, for a faster, more intense maturation. Small casks were common on the island in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, as they were easier to handle and move. It is bottled without chill-filtration or artificial colouring, and is full-bodied, with rich vanilla sweetness and bold peppery spice.
