Arran – Signature Series Edition 3 Duero Discovery (50%)

This is the third release in the Arran Signature Series, a 12-year-old single malt from the Isle of Arran, selected and put together by Distillery Manager Stewart Bowman. It is non-peated and bottled at 50% ABV. The whisky spends six years in first and second fill bourbon casks, then a further six in first fill red wine casks from the Duero region of northern Spain, in warehouse no. 4 at Lochranza. It has a ruby-amber colour. The nose has caramelised fruit, roasted hazelnut, salted caramel and grapefruit. The palate is full and creamy, with oak, ripe red berries, vanilla custard, ginger, aniseed and soft spice, leading to a long finish.
