Arran – Single Malt Sauternes Cask Finish (50%)

A single malt from Arran, bottled at 50% as part of the distillery's Cask Finish series. The whisky first matured in American oak for around eight years, then moved into Sauternes casks from one of the region's best producers. This second period in Sauternes wood is watched closely, so that the sweetness of the casks stays in balance with Arran's natural character. The distillery at Lochranza, in the north west of the island, brought legal distilling back to Arran in 1995. The result is described as a charming, gently sweet malt that stays true to its roots.
