Arran The Bodega is a single malt from the Isle of Arran distillery, matured entirely in ex-sherry casks and bottled at a cask strength of 55.8% in a 70cl bottle.
The sherry casks give it a rich, layered character, with raisins, cherries, figs and dark chocolate among the notes. Even so, a quiet Arran character is said to sit underneath.
On the nose there are raisins, mandarins and a hint of spice. The palate brings warm ripe figs and sweet cherries, and the finish is long and spicy, with pink pepper, hazelnuts and toasted oak.
