This is Auchentoshan 12 Years Old, a Lowland single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in bourbon and sherry casks, and it replaced the earlier 10 year old when the distillery was rebranded in 2011.
The nose is sweet and grainy, with guava and mango and a little honey. On the palate it is oaky and sweet, with barley sugar, a touch of passion fruit and vanilla custard, and perhaps some rose petal jelly. The finish is long, dry and oaky, with barley sweetness and cocoa powder.
