Auchentoshan – 13 Year Old 2007 Artist Collective 5.0 (70cl)

This is a 13 year old Lowland single malt from Auchentoshan, distilled in 2007 and released as Artist Collective 5.0 in a 70cl bottle. It was finished in sherry casks, which add fruity, spicy and autumnal tones to the malty character of the spirit. The colour is mahogany. The nose opens with apricot, orange and tangerine rancio, then black fruits such as blackberry and cherry, with toffee, pastry and dried figs and dates emerging as it opens up. On the palate come apricot, salted caramel, malted barley, prune, toasted walnut, dark chocolate and liquorice. The finish is long and mellow, with cinnamon, ginger and woody notes of chestnut, oak and walnut.
