This is a single cask Auchentoshan, a triple distilled Lowland single malt distilled on 22 October 1979. It then spent 32 years in a single first-fill Oloroso sherry cask and is bottled at a natural cask strength of 50.5%, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is fruity and rich, with manuka honey, ground almonds, Christmas cake and cinnamon. On the palate it is creamy and vanilla-rich, with candied peel, ginger, toasted oak and liquorice. The finish brings plum jam and cinnamon, with perhaps a touch of pipe tobacco.
